Okay, it doesn't totally fit with what we're doing here. I mean, the blog isn't learning to write letters. But today and probably a few days in the future, I want to write some letters.
Dear Cashew, we started calling you Cashew before we knew if you would be a boy or a girl. It felt right and it stuck, we plan to continue to call you Cashew and a number of other names that aren't actually your name for many years to come. Sugar Butt, Lulu, L, Sweets, Baby Girl, Babe, and Lucy Loo Who are some of our favorites. You are being raised by parents who didn't have nicknames, so you my dear, will have many.
Dear Jesse, cheers to half days on Fridays. I love the extra few hours you get to hang out with us. Thank you for enduring Cedar Fever so that we could spend a few minutes at the park on this weirdly warm January day. Thank you for letting Black retrieve 50 times in a row and thank you for making sure Brown doesn't run away when we let him off leash.
Dear Teal, remember when you were mostly a hunting dog and hated affection? Remember when I forced my love on you? I never thought I wanted a big dog, but you came with the man, and I'm never giving you up. While you still want to play and hunt, you also feel the need to be on the couch with me. You are officially my snuggle puppy and I love it.
Dear Darrin, I just love you. Remember when it was just you and me? Before we met your Dad and Puppy Sister. You will always be my baby puppy! I love you and I love how all you want is to be loved. We have high affection needs and that makes us perfect for each other.
